Geranium is a perennial herb, 30-40 cm high, native to southern Africa; it is widely cultivated around the world. Common cultivar in northern China. Breeding method:
Geraniums are commonly propagated by seed and by cuttings.

(1) Propagation by sowing: Geranium can produce seeds through artificial pollination. Sowing is carried out at a temperature of 20-25°C, and it can germinate in about 7-10 days. After the seedlings are transplanted, when the seedlings grow to 5 to 7 cm, they are planted in 10 cm flower pots, and they can bloom in the next spring.

(2) Propagation by cuttings: cuttings can be used except that the plants are in a semi-dormant state from June to August. But spring and autumn are better. It is best to choose varieties with large flowers, double petals and bright colors for propagation. It is taken from the mother plant without pests and diseases. The top of the twig and the tender stem below can be used as cuttings, but the top part is the best, and the growth is vigorous. Fast rooting. After cutting the cuttings, soak them with 100 mg/kg indole butyric acid for 5 to 10 seconds, then dry them for half a day, and let them wilt before cutting them in a sand bed or a matrix of a 1:1 mixture of perlite and peat.
