Its seed oil is edible. It originally grows in the tropical rain forest in the Andes mountains of South America at an altitude of 80-1700 M. Originally, it was changed from the Inca into a wild family species. The Inca language is called Sacha Inchi. It has been used by local aborigines in South America for 3000 years

(1) Requirements for light: sufficient sunshine, increased light intensity and enhanced photosynthesis. Insufficient sunshine will cause a series of reactions, such as excessive growth of branches and leaves, weakness, poor disease and insect resistance, less flower bud differentiation, less nutrient storage, low flowering and fruit setting rate, affected root growth, low content of fruit protein and fat, and poor appearance quality.

(2) Temperature: South American oil vine is a thermophilic plant, which requires no severe cold in winter and no intense heat in summer. The suitable temperature range is the annual average temperature of 12 ~ 36 ℃, the extreme low temperature in winter is not less than 5 ℃, and the maximum monthly average temperature in summer is not higher than 36 ℃. The average temperature in the growth period (March to September) is 12 ~ 30 ℃, and the average temperature in summer (June to August) is 18 ~ 36 ℃. It is most suitable for the growth of South American oil vine. In autumn, when the temperature is high during the day and low at night, the fruit seed has high fat, excellent protein and storage resistance.

(3) Rainfall: South American rattan needs to grow in areas with an annual rainfall of more than 1000mm; General natural precipitation is enough. Irrigation is needed in areas with precipitation less than 1000 mm from April to September. In areas with low precipitation, the water volume is insufficient. Therefore, when building the garden and selecting land, we must consider the irrigation conditions and measures, and pay attention to the drainage measures in rainy season.

(4) Soil: soil has a great influence on the growth, yield and quality of South American oil vine. In short, South American oil vine needs red soil or latosol with sufficient fertility, good drainage, loose soil, rich in organic matter, soil pH value between 5.5 and 7.5, and the thickness of soil layer is greater than or equal to 0.5m

Planting method

(1) Establishment of germination sand bed: select plots with flat terrain, good ventilation and convenient watering to form a border. The border is filled with clean river sand and covered with a shading net with a shade of 50% ~ 70%;

(2) Seed treatment: soak the seeds in warm water at 40 ~ 50 ℃ and cool them naturally for 24 hours, and then remove them for sowing;

(3) Seeding and germination: flatten the surface of the sand bed, then spread the seeds evenly on it, cover the seeds with a layer of sand with a thickness of 2 ~ 3cm, and sow 1000 ~ 1500g per square meter;
